Learning Beyond Borders“An important way to build capacity in a community is to ensure that children get access to an education and that education is at a high level of quality.
LBB does not provide “handouts” that are short-lived, but rather “hand-ups” through assets such as knowledge that not only remain with the individual for their lifetime but can also be shared with others without being diminished.”
Learning Beyond BordersThese are just a few of the pieces from this year's Art for Awareness Auction! With the support and generosity of local artists, we are fundraising for primary schools in rural Uganda. Have a look through the auction to find some amazing art (and great Christmas gifts). By participating in the auction you will be supporting a global education initiative as well as local artists as 50% of the proceeds will go towards LBB supported schools and 50% will go to the artist. Visit our event at https://www.facebook.com/events/183480205909333/ to view dozens of more art pieces!Learning Beyond Borders added 9 new photos — in Edmonton, Alberta.09.12.2018 at 04:15 amLike

Learning Beyond BordersA big thank you to everyone that came out to our Celebrating Uganda event earlier this year! Dr. Arif was able to deliver the map to the students of Kakooga Primary School. They loved seeing the places that UofA students had moved from and were surprised that they came from all over the world. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring them something next year too!07.10.2018 at 03:13 amLike
When you're looking for a snack on the streets of Uganda, the rolex you need to try isn't one that tells time. Made as an omelette and vegetables rolled up in chapati (flatbread), the rolex is one of Uganda's favourite street foods!
Here's a photo taken by Hannah Brooks Photography of a street stall and skilled vendor ready to start cooking!
